Matthew King Lights Tucker Wetmore’s Rising Star With CHAUVET Professional Rouge Outcast BeamWash

NASHVILLE – To say that Tucker Wetmore’s career as a singer-songwriter is off to a fast start just might be like saying a Ferrari is a fast car! After moving to Nashville a few short years ago, the 25-year old Washington State native has already scored a couple of Top 20 hits on the Billboard 2024 Country Chart, as well as a No. 1 hit on US Country Radio.
This year Wetmore rode his rising popularity even higher, setting out on a national “Waves on a Sunset” tour. His rig had to come together quickly to meet the moment, it also had to be easy to set up and adaptable enough to thrive in the variety of venues on the tour’s schedule. Matthew King, who’s been with Wetmore from the star’s earliest touring days, teamed up with 4Wall Entertainment to meet that moment in stunning fashion.
Like Wetmore, King is young , talented — and very resourceful! Working with the 4Wall team, he devised a design based on three sticks of truss configured in six group totems, each outfitted by a lighting rig anchored by the CHAUVET Professional Rogue Outcast BeamWash.

Compact enough for a bus trailer, and powerful enough to be scaled up to the tour’s biggest venues, the lighting rig delivered an array of dazzling looks. The Outcast BeamWashes in the rig gave it a giant boost in this direction, delivering brightness, thanks to their intense output 9 (up to 15,308 lux), bold original looks aided by their pixel mappable outer ring, and variety with their very wide zoom range.
King drew on these features, and much more, including the fixture’s color rendering prowess to create looks that changed the mood on stage to reflect the emotional range of his client’s heartfelt music. At times, he covered the stage with bright vivid looks, only to create a darker more reflective tone the next moment by drawing down the range of his Outcast BeamWashes to allow darkness to play a dominant role on stage.
Drawing on the fixture’s rapid pan and tilt capabilities, King, working with PM Bradley Hasty and FOH Grant Gibson, energized the stage with bold movements for high energy songs. He also relied on the Outcast BeamWash to create some good toe tapping energy, and course he called on the fixtures to engage the crowd with audience lighting.
“The Outcast BeamWash’s brightness, speed, and pixel-mapped outer ring allowed me to come up with an endless variety of looks, all within a compact footprint,” said King. “It’s a fixture that feels like it can do the job of two, and it made the design process much smoother.”
King’s compact rig was so user-friendly, it could be rolled out and setup quickly on site by local crews and run via the preprogram he created. “We wanted this rig to create a range of great looks while still being efficient,” said King. “This came together fast to keep up with Tucker’s skyrocketing popularity. It was a big early step in his career.”
A big step indeed! And you can bet your bottom dollar that there will be many more to come for this rising country star and his young LD.
