Our extensive range of water-based fluids is designed for safety, performance, and purity, leaving behind no oily residue on fixtures or surfaces. Enhance your lighting with clean effects that are safe for performers and equipment.

    Your Questions, Answered

We’ve gathered the top questions from our users to help you confidently create your ultimate lighting rig.
What is the difference between a hazer and a fogger?

A fogger produces dense, opaque clouds of smoke for dramatic, short-lived effects. A hazer creates a fine, translucent mist that hangs in the air for an extended period, designed specifically to make light beams visible without obscuring the stage or performers. Choose fog for high-impact reveals and haze for enhancing aerial beams throughout a show.

Can I use third-party fluid in my CHAUVET Professional machine?

We strongly recommend using only CHAUVET Professional atmospheric fluids. Our fluids are specifically formulated to work with our machines to produce the safest, most consistent, and most efficient output. Using other fluids can cause damage, produce unsafe effects, and will void the product warranty.

How do I choose the right fluid for my specific application?

Each CHAUVET Professional fluid is designed for a particular purpose. Haze fluids (PHF) are perfect for long hang times to reveal light beams. Fog fluids range from quick-dissipating (QDF) for fast bursts to high-density (HDF) for thick, lingering clouds. Always check the fluid’s specifications to match its hang time and density to your creative needs.
