The owner of Events United in Derry, NH has been at the forefront in seeking ways to lessen the impact of recent events on the entertainment lighting industry. Some of his efforts, like the widely viewed St. Patrick’s Day livestream by Dropkick Murphys have been high profile, others like his work with houses of worship have been more low-key. He spoke to us about current challenges and the long-term impact he expects them to have on his business.

Metal masters Code Orange were ready to have a launch party for their latest album, when public gatherings were suddenly prohibited. Undeterred, the band livestreamed a virtual 53-minute launch party concert on Twitch. Sam Jiminez supported it with high-impact visuals using CHAUVET Professional Maverick MK2 Washes and F2 panels.

Performing 200 shows a year, Pigeons Playing Ping Pong feeds off of the energy of fans. The jam band is keeping this connection going with a series of streamed concerts on nugs.tv, and their longtime LD Rogue Warrior Manny Newman is providing their signature colorful lightshow.

When JEM Productions found its event business cut off, owner Joe Ellis converted a section of his warehouse into a livestreaming studio. Hooking up with his local community access television in Wausau, Wisconsin, he is now producing weekly Saturday shows for charities.
