Posted on October 29, 2015

Presenters TogetherNASHVILLE, TN – Visitors to the WFX Conference and Expo will have an opportunity to share insights with technical leaders from two of the most well known and highly respected churches: The Crossing in St. Louis and Gateway Church in Dallas. CHAUVET Professional is sponsoring a seminar by Bill Swaringim and Clark Wilbanks from The Crossing on the morning of Wednesday November 18 from 10:15 am to 11:15 am. The company will also be hosting a session by David Leuschner of Gateway Church in Dallas on Thursday November 19 from 8 am to 9 am. Both sessions will be held in room 213 at the Music City Center in Nashville.

Swaringim, the Director of Technical Arts at The Crossing, and Wilbanks, the church’s lighting and design specialist, will be devoting their session to “Unconventional Lighting.” The duo will share details of how the technical team at The Crossing creates supportive worship environments using all forms of lighting technologies, blending LEDs, moving fixtures and conventional lighting. Drawing on their own experience at the multi-campus church, they’ll explain how some of their best lighting looks have been some of the simplest to achieve. In the process, they will show how they “take the shine off technology” so it doesn’t get in the way of their church’s message.

Painting an Atmosphere of Worship Through Audio, Video and Lighting” is the subject of Leuschner’s Thursday morning session. The Senior Director of Technology and Technical Arts at Gateway Church will discusses how the different technological elements of a worship service work together to engage people at his six-campus church, which averages 28,000 attendees per weekend. A 20-year veteran of the tech industry, Leuschner has worked on major events for George H. W. Bush, Alan Lee Keyes, Walt Disney World, Universal Studios, ABC News, Steven Curtis Chapman and Newsboys among others before joining Gateway.

“This is a wonderful opportunity for anyone interested in worship technology to learn from some of the most accomplished and experienced people in the field,” said Berenice Chauvet, Vice President of Chauvet. “Both sessions should reinforce the concept that technology is merely a tool in the service of worship and not an end in itself. We’re confident that visitors who attend these sessions will leave with a deeper understanding of technology and be in a better position to use it to enrich worship services at their churches.”

The sessions by the tech leaders from The Crossing and Gateway Church are two of eight WFX Seminars that CHAUVET Professional will be sponsoring in room 213. For a complete listing and descriptions, Click Here.
