Several days after the attack in New York City, a concert performance was broadcast on national television called “America:  A Tribute to Heroes” which featured some absolutely amazing cuts of bands playing excellent music for the people who were hurt or killed on 9/11.  One of those amazing versions was Billy Joel playing “New York State of Mind.”  Here’s that cut to start your Friday, it’s a truly beautiful piece of music captured in a moment in time in our history.  Happy Friday, and ENJOY!

An added bonus cut of this tune:

Later in October 2001, another televised show took place, on October 20, 2001 at Madison Square Garden.  Here’s the cut from that show, another marvelous moment captured in time in response to a terrible tragedy.

Start around 5 minutes in if you don’t like “Miami 2017,: which is impossible!
